BD-NCBS CoE flow cytometry course

The BD–NCBS Centre of Excellence (CoE) Flow Cytometry Course is an intensive three-day hands-on training program jointly organized by BD Biosciences and the NCBS–CIFF. The course is designed to develop both technical proficiency and conceptual understanding of flow cytometry and its wide-ranging applications in life sciences research.

Participants will gain comprehensive exposure to the fundamental principles of flow cytometry, including fluidics, optics, fluorescence detection, and instrument configuration. The program also covers critical aspects of experimental design, compensation, data acquisition, and quality control. The course integrates interactive theoretical lectures with live demonstrations and guided hands-on practical sessions using BD flow cytometry platforms available at the BD–NCBS Centre of Excellence at CIFF. Participants will also learn the basics of flow cytometry data analysis, gating strategies, and interpretation of complex datasets using standard analysis software.

By the end of the course, participants will develop a clear understanding of how to design flow cytometry experiments, operate instruments effectively, and generate reliable and reproducible data for their research applications.
