BD-NCBS CoE flow cytometry course

The BD–NCBS Centre of Excellence (CoE) Flow Cytometry Course is an intensive three-day hands-on training program jointly organized by BD Biosciences and the NCBS–CIFF. The course is designed to develop both technical proficiency and conceptual understanding of flow cytometry and its wide-ranging applications in life sciences research.Participants will gain comprehensive exposure to the fundamental principles of flow cytometry, including fluidics, optics, fluorescence detection, and instrument configuration. The program also covers critical aspects of experimental design, compensation, data acquisition, and quality control. The course integrates interactive theoretical lectures with live demonstrations and guided hands-on practical sessions using BD flow cytometry platforms available at the BD–NCBS Centre of Excellence at CIFF. Participants will also learn the basics of flow cytometry data analysis, gating strategies, and interpretation of complex datasets using standard analysis software.By the end of the course, participants will develop a clear understanding of how to design flow cytometry experiments, operate instruments effectively, and generate reliable and reproducible data for their research applications.

2-day Hands-on Spectral Flow Cytometry Workshop

The Central Imaging and Flow Cytometry Facility (CIFF) is organizing a 2-day hands-on workshop on spectral flow cytometry using the Cytek Northern Lights platform.Spectral flow cytometry differs from conventional approaches by capturing the full emission spectrum of fluorophores rather than measuring signals in discrete channels. This enables the simultaneous analysis of multiple markers within a single sample, improving resolution and offering greater flexibility in experimental design. The workshop provides an opportunity to gain practical experience and understand spectral cytometry applications.
